The role at a glance

DesignLeveL is looking for a well-rounded professional eager to participate in all phases of design, from marketing to programming to construction administration. As a boutique firm, team members will actively participate in many aspects of managing an architecture firm. From the creation of marketing materials, client relations, updates to software templates, and project delivery, you will get a variety of professional responsibilities. Unlike larger firms, DesignLeveL provides the opportunity to be involved in a project’s development from the beginning to the end, allowing you to have ownership in the success. The position would be located in Columbus, Ohio, full-time and would be expected to be onsite Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities

  • The development and communication of conceptual designs to fellow team members, consultants, and the client.
  • The translation of the conceptual design intent into technical documents under supervision of the project lead.
  • Participation in client meetings including leading the discussion about design and documenting design decisions.
  • Participation in consultant coordination meetings, including communicating the design intent, understanding the needs of the consultants and their disciplines, and transferring information between the design team and the consultants.
  • Participation in various marketing opportunities.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Architecture or greater from an NAAB accredited university.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Architecture.
  • Healthcare experience (preferred).
  • Proficiency in REVIT (required).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience with Adobe Suites (Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and InDesign) (preferred).
  • Experience with Smartsheet (preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Basic knowledge of sustainability and LEED guidelines.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to multi-task.
  • Deadline driven.

  • Assist in the development of the design through all phases of the project.
  • Translate design intent into technical documents under the supervision of the project lead.
  • Assist in the development of DesignLeveL standards including technical expertise with Revit templates and families.
  • Responsible for the coordination and technical documentation and organization at each phase.
  • Assist with the documentation and issuance of project discussions and decisions.
  • Take initiative on assigned projects and tasks.
  • Explore new techniques, programs, or efficiencies in our workflow.
  • Assist and lead coordination efforts between team members and consultants.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and contractor partners.
  • Participate in field work including measurement and documentation.
  • Participate in construction field observations and production of punch lists.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in architecture from an NAAB accredited university (preferred).
  • 5-8 years of experience in an architectural firm.
  • Experience with complex commercial and/or healthcare projects (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in completion of construction documents.
