Pickering Associates is looking to add another Registered Architect to our team of design professionals. The Project Architect plays a pivotal role in our organization, driving the architectural design process
from conception through construction while ensuring alignment with project goals and standards. This
role requires a balance between design innovation and technical acumen, mentoring junior staff, and
delivering high-quality outcomes in sectors such as healthcare, life sciences, and food/beverage. This
on-site position reports to the Director of Design.
Key Accountabilities:
ï‚·Manage External Design Partners: Leverage external architectural firms to align on project goals
and standards.
ï‚·Client Interaction: Engage with owners, clients, and internal departments to gather project
requirements and develop actionable plans.
ï‚·Execute Internal Architectural Design Process: Oversee all design phases, including Programming, Concepting, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction
Documentation.

and standard details.

ï‚·Mentor and Manage Junior Staff: Guide, mentor, and manage junior staff, fostering their
development and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
Qualifications:
Education: Master’s or Professional Bachelor’s in Architecture
ï‚·Experience: 6 - 10 years in architectural design and project management.
ï‚·Licensure: Licensed Architect or nearing completion of licensing process.
ï‚·Technical Skills:
o Strong balance between design and technical skills, particularly in construction detailing.
o Extensive BIM (Revit) modeling experience.
o Experience with supporting software packages (Lumion, Photoshop, etc.) that support
rendering and BD efforts.
o Experience with writing specification.
o Understanding of Ohio Building Code, including code review, zoning, and planning
commission processes.
o Experience in the Design Build arena and coordination with design assist partners.
ï‚· Design Experience:
o Healthcare, Life Sciences, Food & Beverage/Manufacturing (++ Familiarity with FGI
