Senior Architect
OH
Posted 4 weeks ago

10+ Years Experience  |  Columbus, OH (In-Office)  |  $111,920 - $124,940

BBCO is a Columbus-based architecture and interiors firm founded on a simple but powerful belief: great people doing great work deserve an environment that matches their ambition. Since 2009, we have built a culture grounded in trust, humility, and an Eye to Elevate — in every project we deliver and every person we grow. We are looking for a Senior Project Architect who has earned their expertise, leads with presence, and is ready to shape work that leaves a lasting mark.

THE ROLE

The Senior Project Architect is a trusted technical and design authority at BBCO. You will present directly to clients on complex design and technical solutions, work alongside Project Management to supervise the team's design and technical delivery, and serve as a reliable force for quality and consistency across every project you touch. This is a role for someone who has seen enough to lead with confidence — and is humble enough to keep learning.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Present directly to clients on technical and design solutions with authority and clarity
  • Partner closely with Project Managers to supervise and elevate the team's design and technical output
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on complex building systems, materials, and project delivery
  • Lead design development and construction documentation on projects of significant scope and complexity
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior architects and architectural staff — mentorship is mutual here
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and agency reviewers through all phases of project delivery
  • Uphold BBCO's standard of accuracy and craft — we build and re-build until it is right
  • Contribute to a culture of Shared Sight: communicate proactively, stay organized, and bring the team along

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
  • 10+ years of architectural experience with demonstrated senior-level project responsibility
  • Deep command of design, technical documentation, and construction administration across project types
  • Proven ability to present confidently to clients and lead multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Mastery of Revit and project delivery workflows; comfort with evolving design technology
  • Exceptional attention to detail paired with the big-picture thinking to see what others don't
  • A communication style that is honest, direct, and consistent — you over-communicate before you under-deliver
  • A collaborative, ego-free approach: you know the best outcomes come from great teams, not lone stars

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive salary: $111,920 - $124,940 (commensurate with experience)
  • A senior role with real influence over design quality, team culture, and client relationships
  • In-office environment in Columbus, OH — inclusive, interesting, and refreshingly real
  • A firm that values your personal time equally to your professional time — balance is built in, not bolted on
  • The opportunity to shape the next chapter of a growing, purpose-driven firm
  • A team of Genuine Visionaries who care more because they are compelled by a purpose that really matters

WHO THRIVES HERE

You are technically masterful and people-smart in equal measure. You bring your full personality to the table, lead with empathy, and hold yourself — and those around you — to a standard of work that consistently exceeds expectations. You believe that architecture is both craft and service, and you show up every day prepared to deliver both.

Apply at bbcodesign.com or send your resume and portfolio to careers@bbcodesign.com.

Architect
OH
Posted 4 weeks ago

Licensed | 6–8+ Years Experience | Columbus, OH (In-Office) | $79,440–$111,390

BBCO is a Columbus-based architecture and interiors firm with an Eye to Elevate — in the built environment and in the teams that shape it. We are inherently non-conformist, committed equally to accuracy and creativity, and relentlessly focused on impact. We're growing, and we're looking for a seasoned licensed architect who can lead complex work, mentor others, and move seamlessly between visionary thinking and technical mastery.

THE ROLE

Depending on your background and experience, you may be placed at Level 2 (6+ years) or Level 3 (8+ years). At both levels, you will own significant technical and design responsibilities on major projects — including education, residential, and mixed-use work — while contributing to a culture that prizes collaboration, mentorship, and persistent progress.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead specific technical design aspects of major projects from investigation through recommendation
  • Investigate, evaluate, and recommend design solutions that best meet client needs
  • Apply advanced architectural concepts independently; develop new techniques and approaches where needed
  • Provide architectural consultation on large, complex projects in planning, design, and coordination phases
  • At Level 3: Participate in conceptual design and provide full project support as a subject matter expert
  • At Level 3: Liaise with Project Management, consultants, and firm leadership on technical solutions and strategies
  • Mentor and guide less experienced team members — because mentorship is mutual here

At BBCO, we have an Eye to Elevate — not just in the buildings we design, but in the careers we build. Founded in 2009 with a vision for great people doing great work in an inclusive, relaxed environment, we challenge the architecture industry from the inside out. We are as creative as we are accurate, as fun as we are dedicated. If you're a licensed architect ready to make your mark on work that truly matters, we want to hear from you.

THE ROLE

As an Architect – Level 1, you will participate in architectural work across projects of moderate size and complexity, spanning education, residential, and mixed-use building types. You will bring technical precision and design ambition in equal measure, contributing to a collaborative team that never settles for good enough.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Independently perform architectural design assignments on projects of moderate size and complexity
  • Conduct analyses of design, planning, and occupancy studies; develop design layouts
  • Prepare project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data
  • Write reports, plans, cost estimates, and calculations
  • Collaborate actively with team members, bringing your full self and sharing sight on project direction
  • Research and record information in support of assigned project work

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
  • Active architectural license (required)
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in an architectural practice
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and standard project delivery software
  • A detail-oriented mindset with the drive to build and re-build until it's right
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative, ego-free spirit that thrives in a team-first environment

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive salary: $65,000–$79,010 (commensurate with experience)
  • Inclusive, design-forward office environment in Columbus, OH
  • A culture of persistent progress — we invest in your growth as much as you do
  • Work that has real impact across education, residential, and mixed-use sectors
  • A team that is as fun as it is dedicated, with a genuine work-life balance

WHO THRIVES HERE

BBCO people are committed, curious, and collaborative. They bring their whole personality to the table, embrace feedback, and are energized by purposeful work. If you are passionately determined to be the change you believe in — architecturally and culturally — you'll fit right in.
