Job Summary:
MKC Architects is seeking a highly experienced Senior Architect and Studio Director. This role involves leading the planning, design, and execution of MKC projects from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in K-12 school design, strong leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of building codes, accessibility requirements, learning environment best practices, and oversees all aspects of studio operations, including team leadership, project management, and creative direction, ensuring successful project delivery and maintaining high quality standards.

We are seeking applicants with 7+ years professional experience with a design & technical focus responsible for significant project activities. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate comprehensive thinking and management skills for delivering public and private architectural projects. We seek a Project Manager who is organized, can provide project delivery direction, and manage multiple projects from conception to completion. He/she is responsible to ensure the program, design, and implementation meet governing codes, regulations, and company standards. Candidates need to be able to work in a collaborative, fast-paced and fun office that has a casual culture with a team approach.

Incumbent Responsibilities:
This is a position for an individual who is organized and can lead projects
from conception to completion. He/she is responsible to ensure the design,
specifications, and construction documents meet governing codes, regulations,
company standards and standards of the industry. Working literacy and capability
in Revit is required. Candidates need to be able to work in an office that has a
casual culture with a team approach. The successful candidate will be a thinker/
doer/manager, charged with leading the project and undertaking tasks associated
with the full range of architectural project delivery, including participating in and/or
leading project teams of 1-3 members, coordinating with consultants and managing
many areas of project delivery, from conceptual design through construction. He/
she will assist to in the production of programming documents, concept design
presentations, and construction documents.

We are seeking to add a Project Architect to our growing and talented Design-Build Company. Studio 109 Designs, LLC is PWCampbell’s full-service, in-house architecture and design division. This position requires the individual to be construction minded, a strong communicator, and detail focused.
Objectives of this Role
Collaborate with both internal and external project stakeholders to develop comprehensive construction documents for financial and commercial building ventures.
Responsibilities
• Lead the production of architectural construction documents and specifications for building designs prepared by in house design architects.
• Identify, trouble shoot and reconcile constructability issues when translating schematic designs to construction documents.
• Coordinate and integrate engineering elements into a design
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines to integrate engineering elements into unified designs.
• Ensure compliance with the company’s quality assurance polices and project delivery procedures.
• Revise drawings using mark-ups from Principal Architects.
• Implement in-house construction documentation checklist to develop and revise drawings.
• Collaborate with the team to finalize construction permit drawings.
• Stay updated on advancements in technologies and techniques.
• Have a strong understanding of construction techniques and systems and the ability to properly document them.
• Translate design drawings and renderings into a comprehensive set of construction documents.
• Identify and resolve constructability and coordination issues.
•Perform other duties and functions as assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited university
• Architectural License or in process of obtaining
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in architectural construction drawing production and coordination is required
• Above average computer skills
• Expertise in AutoDesk Revit and AutoCAD. Familiarity with Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, SketchUp, and Enscape is preferred but not required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and verbally on a one-to-one basis and in front of groups
• Ability to read and review construction drawings
• Ability to solve problems with diplomacy and to think and work independently and within a team
• Strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects at any given time.
