While AIA Ohio President Eric Pros takes a well-deserved break with his growing family, we’re excited to share a summer update highlighting the important work happening across the organization.

AIA Ohio’s committees and work groups are actively meeting, collaborating, and driving initiatives that align with our strategic plan. Here’s a look at what they’re up to—and how you can get involved:

Member Engagement: Listening to You
The Member Engagement Work Group is launching targeted focus groups to better understand what programs and services matter most to you. These conversations will help shape future offerings and strengthen member connections to AIA Ohio. The group meets bi-weekly and welcomes participation from any interested member.

Government Advocacy: Shaping the Future of the Profession
Meeting weekly while the legislature is in session, the Government Advocacy Committee sets the advocacy agenda, monitors and influences legislation, organizes AIA Ohio’s annual Advocacy Day, and manages the AIA Ohio PAC. Interested in policy and advocacy? Join the virtual meetings Mondays at noon.

Public Awareness: Telling Our Story
This group promotes the value of architecture and raises the visibility of AIA Ohio’s work. One of their most notable efforts is serving as the link between AIA Ohio and America ByDesign, the national TV series that spotlights outstanding architecture projects in Ohio.

Organizational Vitality: Planning for Long-Term Impact
This committee is conducting a deep dive into AIA Ohio’s programs to assess relevance, success, and financial sustainability. Their work will result in a strategic financial plan to ensure that AIA Ohio continues to be a good steward of membership dollars while advancing our mission.

Conference Planning: Mark Your Calendars
Join us September 25–26 in Columbus’ vibrant Franklinton neighborhood for an inspiring, one-day conference experience, preceded by our annual AIA Ohio Awards Celebration. Thursday evening’s LUs & Brews and Awards Celebration will be held at Strongwater, with a full day of education, keynotes, tours, and networking at The Junto Hotel on Friday. Space is limited, so be sure to register soon.

Sponsorship Committee: Building Connections
Throughout the year, this group cultivates meaningful partnerships with industry allies and helps support events like LUs & Brews – which is quickly becoming a favorite event of members for its relaxed, engaging atmosphere. Their efforts are critical to AIA Ohio’s success, and new members are always welcome to join.

Get Involved: Be a Part of AIA Ohio’s Mission
Our work groups and committees are powered by members who contribute their time and talent to support architecture across the state. Whether you’re passionate about advocacy, public outreach, programming, or professional development, there’s a place for you at the table.

Join us in shaping the future of AIA Ohio—and the profession.
