What is a poster session?

A poster session takes place at  an academic conference and is an exhibit of research in progress that  is presented visually with posters. This format is intended to engage others in conversation. The sessions are popular- a glorious mash-up of crowd focused on having fun through the whirlwind of group mind. One question leads to another and another — with both investigators and listeners saying, “Wow, I hadn’t thought of that angle.”
