AIA Ohio is soliciting nominations for AIA Ohio Representative to the Strategic Council.
AIA Ohio Representative to the Strategic Council
A candidate will be selected to replace Hallie Crouch, Assoc. AIA, Cleveland, whose three-year term will be complete on Dec. 31, 2026. AIA Strategic Council members are responsible for establishing the vision and long-term goals of the Institute. The AIA Strategic Council serves an advisory role to the AIA National Board, but is not involved in governance. The AIA Ohio Representative to the Strategic Council serves as an ex-officio (advisory, non-voting) member of the AIA Ohio Board of Directors.
Commitment and Expectations
The next Strategic Councilor representing Ohio will serve from January 1, 2027 – December 31, 2029. Expectations at the National Level include but are not limited to: attend quarterly council assemblies (two in-person that align with AIA Conference and AIA Governance Week in DC), participate in study group meetings as the groups self-determine fit for assignments, present final assignments / recommendations to the to the Board of Directors, attend AIA Leadership Exchange Meetings (virtual) and other special meetings, represent Ohio’s interests and voice to National. Expectations at the State Level include but are not limited to attend in-person bimonthly AIA Board Meetings, produce bimonthly reports to AIA Ohio on National activity and decisions, participate in at least one AIA Ohio Board Work Group as defined by the Strategic Plan, actively collect input, concerns, and questions from all components to elevate / address key issues.
AIA Ohio Representative to the Strategic Council Eligibility
Candidates must be a member in good standing of AIA Ohio. Current members of the AIA Ohio Executive Committee are not eligible. Members of the current Representative’s local component (AIA Cleveland) are not eligible.
AIA Ohio Representative to the Strategic Council Submission
Candidates shall submit to AIA Ohio a letter of intent stating their contributions and qualifications no later than Aug. 31, to the attention of Kate Brunswick, CAE, Hon. AIA, Kate@assnoffices.com.
AIA Ohio Representative to the Strategic Council Election
Candidates will be interviewed by the AIA Ohio Board at the AIA Ohio September board meeting, taking place on Friday, Sept. 18, at 10:00 a.m. in Worthington. Following candidate interviews, the board will vote to elect the next Ohio Representative to the Strategic Council by simple majority, for a three-year term, beginning Jan. 1, 2027.
