AIA Ohio’s website includes several pages dedicated to advocacy efforts.
From the Advocacy dropdown menu at www.aiaohio.org, you can find:
https://aiaohio.org/aia-ohio-advocacy-and-the-aia-ohio-pac/. This page explains the importance of the Ohio Architects PAC to AIA Ohio’s advocacy efforts. From this link you can donate to the PAC, and you can see a list of peers who have already donated. Every contribution makes a difference and helps AIA Ohio advocate on behalf of ALL members for legislation that will improve the practice of architecture in Ohio. Donate today and add your name to the list of Architect Advocates!
https://aiaohio.org/architect-qbs-selection/ – Are you familiar with the concept of Qualifications Based Selection (QBS) but maybe not sure exactly how this law works? This page includes six one-page white papers that explain the process of QBS, when it should be used, how to use it, and what the implications are if the law is not followed. These tools are designed to be used to educate architects and owners on QBS law in Ohio.
https://aiaohio.org/latest-news/all/legislative-news/– This is a page dedicated to legislative news. Of particular note, the AIA Ohio Monthly Legislative Newsletters are posted here. These are written for AIA Ohio by our lobbyist, Luther Liggett, Jr., and they include monthly updates on legislation and regulations that may impact the profession.
https://aiaohio.org/aia-ohio-public-policies-and-position-statements/. AIA Ohio’s Government Advocacy Committee works within the framework of AIA Ohio’s Public Policies and Position Statements, and this page is where members will find them. The Committee reviews the Public Policies and Position Statements annually to ensure they remain aligned with AIA National’s policies and position statements.
