Join your peers at AIA Ohio’s Signature Advocacy Event
AIA Ohio Advocacy Day is taking place on Thursday, March 27, in Columbus. Why should you attend? AIA Ohio members who join us for Advocacy Day will participate in meaningful meetings with legislators discussing issues that are vitally important to the profession.
AIA Ohio’s Advocacy Day is an opportunity for you to become fully engaged in AIA Ohio’s advocacy efforts. Past attendees have found attending AIA Ohio’s Advocacy Day to be a meaningful and positive experience:
“I’ve attended several AIA Ohio Advocacy Day events and it never gets old. It can be hard to set aside a day for this event, but it is so important and I’m always glad I did!”
“I’m glad I came along because I was definitely the youngest architect in the room and we need to have more younger voices and women in the room. I also had fun!“
“This was my first one, and I’m glad I took part. I’m looking forward to next year and encouraging others to try it.”
“The whole thing is a fascinating lesson on how (and why) to work with legislators.”
Meetings with legislators allow members, together in small groups, to meet with key legislators in both the House and Senate to outline AIA Ohio’s position on issues that have been identified by members as key to the advancement of the profession. Following the legislative meetings, a debriefing session has been found to be incredibly helpful for AIA Ohio follow up – putting your meetings into action.
Registration will open in February. For now, hold March 27 on your calendar and plan to be an Architect Advocate!
