AIA Youngstown Makes Move

AIA Youngstown has for the last 28 years made our home at the Ohio One Building in Youngstown’s downtown area.  For many years, this was the home for board meetings, our chapter computers, and, when AIA required each chapter to have a local phone, our AIA Youngstown (Eastern Ohio) answering machine.  The office also served as a gathering place for our Lunch-n-Learns as well as other chapter events and meetings.

Over the past several weeks, the AIA Youngstown Board reviewed our needs and future goals, as well as our expenses, and decided that maintaining our office was not in the best interests of our chapter or our membership.  While we still used the office for chapter events, these were primarily our board meetings.  Simply put, Covid-19 changed the way we function and the way we do things. The Board believes that our resources can be better used to serve members, and the community, through a new effort that will have a more visible, outward focus.

While we will no longer have our office, the chapter is looking forward to hosting bigger and better events in support of our members, while at the same time, avoiding the need to raise dues.  In this fast-changing environment, we look forward to being a more visible part of the community than ever before.  Updated contact and mailing information will be posted on our website and social media channels over the next several weeks.
