Great Parks of Hamilton County
Harbor Revitalization Design Services
April 10, 2022
Great Parks of Hamilton County (GPHC) is requesting Letter of Interest submittals from qualified consulting firms or teams to provide professional services for the revitalization of three destination harbors, one in each of GPHC’s regions. Each harbor is a major center of activity in GPHC’s most-visited parks and hosts some of our most popular venues and experiences, including visitor centers, boat rentals, wet and dry play experiences, fishing, and special events.
Professional services will consist of the further development of GPHC’s Park and Facility Master Plans for harbors at Sharon Woods, Miami Whitewater Forest, and Winton Woods through schematic design, bid documents and construction administration for each harbor. Design services will commence with holistic analysis of facilities and program offerings. Design visioning for all three Harbors should be reflective of GPHC’s updated brand identity truths¬ while honoring and enhancing the unique experiences that give each park an identity. Architectural systems, mechanical systems, material, site development and site furnishings and other standards should be considered holistically for operational and other efficiencies. It is GPHC’s intention to use the construction manager at risk (CMaR) project delivery model for the harbor projects.
Planning and design tasks will require an integrated, multidisciplinary that will provide both a technical and creative approach. An ideal team will include creative and inclusionary public engagement and marketing/communications, architecture, landscape planning, and environmental and ecological assessment and permitting, as well as technical design team of surveyor, architect, landscape architect, civil, structural, MEP, and geotechnical engineers, kitchen, and graphic art consultants.
